In 1991 a group of Christian men who had a love of bass fishing formed

The Masters Casters Christian Bass Club.  We are a non-denominational bass club.  The only requirement is to be a Christian honoring our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Our goal as a club is to promote Christian fellowship through the
sport of bass fishing.

The club has 10 tournaments a year, beginning in February and ending in November.  We choose locations for the schedule at the February meeting.  We use a running tally of individual weights from each tournament and award the top anglers at our banquet held in January.

We meet the 1st Monday of each month at Ascension Baptist Church  in Gonzales, Louisiana at 7:00 pm.  We invite anyone who may be interested in our club to attend a meeting.  We also invite you to visit our Club Forum
You may contact us by E-Mail @ The Masters Casters Christian Bass Club

What are we all about?

bullet

Sharing our passion for Christ and fishing

bullet

Monthly meetings with a great meal and special guest speaker

bullet

Monthly fishing tournaments across southeast La, as part of an annual fishing competition

In the summer of 2004, a group of 5 or 6 members from First Baptist Church of Luling got together to discuss the creation of a fishing club. What was born out of prayer, several meetings and lots of work was Casting for Christ, a Christian fishing club. The club was started to create a way for men to merge their passion for Christ with their passion for fishing. The mission of the club is “Connecting people to Christ through fellowship and fishing”. Although the club was created by members of FBC Luling, it is open to all and church membership is not required.

Pat Drew – President

We have 25 members from everywhere, Brandon, Florence, Morton, Hattisburg, Brookhaven, Jackson, Pearl, Raymond, Port Gibson, and Crystal Springs.  We are presently a BASS Federated club.  We fish 10 tournaments/year of which the best 8 count towards a points championship.  We fish boater and noboater, we draw partners at the Monday night meeting preceding the Sat. T.  We "weigh" fish on the Golden Rule Weighmaster which has inches and weights on the rule.  Once the fish is recorded on the weigh slip and confirmed by the noboater, the fish is released to be caught another day.  This allows us to weigh fish on slot lakes and eliminates the hassle of keeping fish alive through a stressful traditional weigh-in.  Tournament fees are $10 for T, $5 big fish of the day.  70/30 payout for first/second teams.  100% big bass.  At our meetings we have prayer time, a short devotion, then proceed with club business.  We are presently heavy to boaters which is a good problem to have.  Below is a list of the lakes we have fished.
